Hack Day Recap: Music Hack Day Bologna, Italy
Posted October 11th, 2013
We had a blast hacking with you in the northern Italian city of Bologna. Check out all of the cool projects built over the weekend. Here are some of the hacks built using Spotify’s APIs:
Visually localize on a map genres played in your city through Spotify.
This is a web app that combines email data and text processing with MusiXmatch and Spotify to find associations between artists and their lyrics, then visualize these associations and generate a playlist.
Lets people bring their own playlists to the party using their mobile phones to vote for what they want to listen to next.
In case there are no votes, the Spotify app uses Echonest to determine the perfect next song to play based on danceability, energy and tempo.
Winning hack: Junkcaster for Spotify
Playlists are generated based on the key you’re playing with a live guitar input.
