Spotify Platform is pleased to announce the second annual Spotify WWDC Developer Meetup!

Spotify WWDC Event 2012

The audience waves for the camera at last year’s WWDC meetup.

Join us and our gracious hosts at IGN’s San Francisco office (same place as last year!) for an evening of socialising, pizza, beer and tech talks. The event starts at 7:00pm on Monday, June 10th. An RSVP is required to attend, so if you’re a developer and would like to come see us, you can RVSP here.

Our special guest speaker this year is Ash Furrow, an iOS developer who worked at 500px before moving to Teehan+Lax in early 2013.  Ash will be giving a talk on the hot new framework Reactive Cocoa.

Next, our very own iOS client developer Per Eckerdal will talk about how the Spotify iOS client is developed with such a large number of people committing into the codebase, or in his own words — How we develop at breakneck speeds without breaking each other’s necks.

Finally, Spotify Platform developer Daniel Kennett will discuss threading and concurrency techniques to help keep your application buttery smooth, even if the APIs you’re working with aren’t thread-safe. His talk is titled  “Not thread-safe? Sounds like a job for threads!” — Techniques and tactics for safely running operations in the background no matter what the documentation says.

More information about the speakers and schedule can be found on the RSVP page. We look forward to seeing you there!
