Music Apps Hack Weekend: more than just bands and brands
Posted February 15th, 2012
On February 24th, we’re teaming up with our friends from OMD, Facebook, foursquare, The Echo Nest, Twilio, GoGrid and the City of New York to celebrate our love for music, hacking, and networking.
Music Apps Hack Weekend is a 48-hour collective, collaborative, and code-friendly jam session to develop innovative products and ideas built on Spotify’s new app platform.
This is more than just your average hackathon; it’s a command center where brand wizards, artisan coders, brilliant designers, and tactful business minds collaborate, prototype, mingle, and define the next generation of music applications.
Product and marketing exes from brands including CW, Doritos, McDonald’s, Mtn Dew, State Farm and others will be on-site to inspire hacks and offer prizes for the best new ideas.
There will be a music performance on Friday and Saturday night, and we’re putting together a ping pong tournament for later in the evening on Saturday.
We’re lucky to have Phin Barnes (First Round Capital) to help us judge the event.
RSVP here: http://musicappshackweekend.eventbrite.com/ If you’re coming for the full weekend, sign up as “hacker”, and if you’re just coming for the demos on Sunday, sign up as a “spectator”.
We’re really excited to spend the weekend with you.
