libspotify 0.0.4 adds support for Mac OS X and Windows

We are happy to announce the latest and greatest version of libspotify (0.0.4), now supporting Mac OS X and Windows in addition to good ol’ Linux.

But that’s not all - we’ve added some new features as well, most notably:

  • Functionality to star tracks (as seen in our latest iPhone client, not yet released for the desktop version of Spotify)
  • Radio searches
  • Manipulating playlists without having to add them to your playlist container
  • Support for fetching high bitrate versions of our streams
  • Callback if stream errors should occur
  • Callback whenever there is new userdata available

The developers also took some time to add some new example projects, meaning you should just be able to fire up Xcode et al. and hit build to get an idea of what you could do with the library.

As usual, your feedback is the best way for us to tell us what we should add in future versions. Keep it coming. We’re in #spotify on irc.freenode.net and in the forum.
